Late Summer Fair

De Haagse Kermis, Malieveld - 22 september 2012

Last Saturday I went to the Fair

to see the Fireworks

I took my new camera out for the first time

to take some night photos

I did not have a tripod to place the camera on ,

so I tried to keep still

At home I was very pleased with the results !

Enjoyed some Sweet Candy

and looked back at a pleasant evening

A gift of Love !

An extra special V.I.P.

But wealth and fame have passed me by

I'm not quite certain how or why

Should greatness come at last, maybe

I'd much prefer being simply me.

Hijo de La Luna - Mecano

Hijo de la luna (Spaans voor "zoon van de Maan") is een Spaanstalig liedje.
De tekst en melodie zijn geschreven door José Maria Cano van de groep Mecano,
die ermee in 1990 een Top 40-notering haalde in Nederland.

Het lied gaat over een zigeunervrouw die de Maan smeekt om een zigeunerman
te kunnen trouwen.
De Maan antwoordt dat zij de man zou krijgen als haar eerstgeboren zoon
de Maan zou toebehoren.
De vrouw krijgt een albinokind, en de zigeunerman wil niet geloven
dat het zijn zoon kon zijn, want de huid is zo blank,
zo anders dan dat van een zigeuner.
Hij denkt dat de vrouw hem bedrogen heeft en doodt haar,
en laat het kind achter op een plek in de wildernis.
Vervolgens ontfermt de Maan zich over haar albinokind.
