Between 10 December 2010 and 15 February 2011
the sixth edition of Light Art Kijkduin will again create
a fairytale-like landscape in the dunes around Kijkduin.
More than 100 illuminated globes of different sizes and colours,
measuring between 50 and 100 cm diameter,
are spread among the dunes,
constantly changing their colours in the evening hours.
Even during the daytime, when the lights are not lit,
the globes create an unreal though very soothing effect.

(Photo taken in 2009)
The Moon was but a Chin of Gold
The Moon was but a Chin of Gold
A Night or two ago --
And now she turns Her perfect Face
Upon the World below --
Her Forehead is of Amplest Blonde --
Her Cheek -- a Beryl hewn --
Her Eye unto the Summer Dew
The likest I have known --
Her Lips of Amber never part --
But what must be the smile
Upon Her Friend she could confer
Were such Her Silver Will --
And what a privilege to be
But the remotest Star --
For Certainty She take Her Way
Beside Your Palace Door --
Her Bonnet is the Firmament --
The Universe -- Her Shoe --
The Stars -- the Trinkets at Her Belt --
Her Dimities -- of Blue --

Hello enjoy my first contribution to
Tea Pot and Tea Things Tuesday.
Isn't tea a great source of pleasure and health.
With just two or tree cups a day
you will feel a difference in your body and mind.
This lovely tea set crafted in Chinese style
has a special place in my heart.
It reminds me of my father
who passed away two years ago.
I particularly like the blue silk box with its lilac shimmer.
Drinking tea from these little bowls is a fun thing to do.
Jasmine tea is my favorit.
The flowers add a subtle note to the tea.
In some parts of China it is customary to serve Jasmine tea
as a welcoming gesture to guests.
Let's walk to the Chinese pond
and find a place to sit and watch the Koi Fish for a while.
Wereldtuinen Mondo Verde, Landgraaf, the Netherlands 2010.
Isn't this a beautiful place te be ?
Another little treasure I like to show you
is this wonderful gift from a friend.
The pretty picture of a family enjoying tea
is a delight to the eye.
At the back we see a merchant ship approaching
the mainland.
A lovely floral border and three small houses ?
provide the finishing touch.
This little bowl raises a lot of questions.
The illustrated family looks European and
I think the images have something to do
with the Dutch Tea Trade into the Far East ?
It would need some more research.
(to be continued)
Thanks for your visit
and keep enjoying your tea break.
Blowing some Dutch love your way

Hello Dear Readers, welcome to Mapi's World !
It's a New Year and time for a New Start.
Take a rest for a while .....

Yes, it's a bit dark in here.
We need some more color.
So let's pick up some flowers.
